Magnet Certified Forensics Examiner - AXIOM

The Magnet Certified Forensics Examiner (MCFE) certification is an accreditation that showcases an examiners’ expert-level competence with Magnet Forensics products to peers, internal stakeholders and external audiences, including legal teams or clients. Our certification program is free to users who have completed the prerequisite training courses.

Description

The MCFE certification for Magnet AXIOM will last for 2 years from the date of successful completion. The test is administered online is presented as a timed evaluation having 75 questions to be completed over the course of 120 minutes. Students will be presented with materials featuring digital evidence items that are to be downloaded and processed prior to starting the timed evaluation. Students will complete both general knowledge questions around the operation and functions of both Magnet AXIOM Process and AXIOM Examine as questions formatted using the information derived from the AXIOM case file created by the examinee using AXIOM using the evidence files downloaded for the certification. In order to certify as an MCFE Students must complete the exam and attain an 80% score or higher.

If a student does not reach the 80% score on their first attempt, they will be able to immediately take a second attempt of the certification. If that student is unsuccessful a second time, they will be placed on a 60-day delay before getting another attempt at the test.

Qualifying for the MCFE-AXIOM

In order to successfully qualify for the MCFE-AXIOM, students must complete one of the following course tracks:

  • AX200
  • CY200
  • BCERT [Offered at NCFI]
  • Custom Courses which combine core competency components from AX200

Example: A custom course that combines material from AX200 and AX250 or AX300. Custom courses' eligibility will be evaluated based on the planned or delivered curriculum prior to the course delivery.
